Everything You Need For Your
Business’s Security CCTV System

Business owners and building managers are tasked with the responsibility of protecting their staff, customers, and assets. Creating a safe place to work, browse wares, and store inventory to be able to run business. In this regard, commercial CCTV plays a critical role in monitoring the perimeter, deterring theft and trespassing, alerting managers of unusual behaviour, and providing evidence when an incident does happen.

You’re busy. We get it. Which is why you need a partner in security system installations that can handle everything you need with the supply, installation, system integration, maintenance, and technical support for your commercial CCTV system. You also need punctuality, work that is up to standards and meets your compliance, as well as a proper hand off so your installation actually is put to proper use.

Brillare Electrical is that partner. We’re licensed, WA police checked, and have over 50 years combined experience under our belt.

CCTV installations are mandatory in Perth for:

  • Alcohol licensed premises
  • Gaming rooms (gambling)
  • Cash heavy businesses

Where Commercial CCTV is Installed:

  • Must display signage informing staff and customers that CCTV is in use
  • Must be installed by a licensed security system installer, not just an electrician
  • Must not be installed in areas where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy (for e.g. bathrooms)

What is a Commercial CCTV Security System?

This may seem straightforward, but no. A complete commercial CCTV system isn’t just one camera. It’s 2, 4 or 6 strategically placed security cameras around and within your premises, with high-grade video quality during the day and at night. Then there’s everything else besides the camera themselves: wiring, recording device (NVR or DVR) with encrypted storage, remote monitoring app with real-time data on mobile and desktop, and even AI analytics to alert you of any suspicious activity, right when it happens.

That’s a lot. It’s also amazing technology and all at an affordable price that’s within reach for most small to medium businesses in Perth.

At Brillare Electrical, we pair this with an excellent clean and reliable set up, a complete walkthrough of the technology (including how to set up parameters), and technical support. For businesses who want to be in the priority queue for continual help when they need it, along with discounted regularly scheduled maintenance, we also provide premium support and maintenance plans.

Deterrents Through CCTV Technology

Seeing commercial CCTV cameras installed in a business already acts as a deterrent for those lingering around your business, at times where they shouldn’t be there. There’s still more on top of that, with some cameras having added tech features.

Strobe Lights

Bright flashing lights that alert neighbours and bystanders to any activity. Also acting as a visually disorientating signal that potential intruders shouldn’t be there.

Alarms

Loud, high-pitched and wailing sounds that induces panic in potential intruders and vandals. It audibly alerts neighbours to potential suspicious activity around your building.

Voice / Talk to Intruders

(Two Way Audio)

Some commercial CCTV will have an audible voice recording, for e.g. “you are under surveillance” or will give you a two-way ability to talk and hear the person at the door. It’s useful for dealing with delivery drivers or responding to other visitors, who may not be expected but are also not harmful. Included tech feature within the Hikvision 8MP AcuSense 4-Camera Package.

Our Commercial CCTV Installation Process

Helping you understand what we do and what you can expect.

Site Survey and Personalised Camera Map

First thing’s first. We undertake a site assessment of your commercial premises, evaluating key vulnerable areas such as key entry and exit points, inventory, point of sales, hallways, carparks, and other areas where cash gets handled. From this assessment, our security system installers can recommend the spots (in order of priority) of where to have CCTV surveillance installed.

Selecting Cameras and Recorder Equipment that Complement the Plan

The second part of your commercial CCTV solution is the gear. We pair strategic placements with high-grade commercial security cameras, designed to detect unusual activity and capture clear footage in these positions.

While we know it may seem like the easiest solution to go after the cheapest package available, not every camera is made the same, or offers the full spectrum of features. In some applications, these features may be extravagant, in others, it may make perfect sense to have full-feature coverage of the area. This may mean AI powered alarms of suspicious activity sent as real time notifications to your phone app, powerful long range coloured night vision, active deterrents and more. This also includes whether turret cameras (long but directional range) or bullet cameras (short but wide range) would provide better coverage, where a camera is installed.

In addition to the cameras themselves, this also needs to include a recording device to encrypt and store footage. The solution is usually a NVR (Network Video Recorder) or a DVR (Digital Video Recorder). We recommend NVRs for most installations, as they use IP cameras and ethernets which allows for a higher resolution, utilising advanced features like AI-based alerts, as well as more ease with installation. Both storage options are also operated on local storage, over the cloud, meaning the footage remains on site. Nothing is sent to an external server.

Installation and Integration

Once a quote is accepted and confirmed, we communicate with you to schedule a suitable date. On the scheduled date, we arrive on time, and complete the installation following the designed commercial CCTV plan. We complete our work to industry standards and run discreet high-quality cabling (Cat6) for your IP Cameras.

For businesses that already have existing security systems on the premises, we can integrate this technology to work with other intrusion detection systems. This helps give more data for your security system to work with.

For large buildings or companies with complex security needs, Brillare is able to prepare complete, custom commercial security systems that integrate multiple components (intercom, access control, duress emergency alarm, number plate recognition), giving your property a robust multi-layered defence.

Network Set Up and Configurations

Because we’re using a NVR for the installation, connecting your camera to the network is easy and clean through the ethernet. We connect IP cameras to a Local Area Network (LAN) to transmit video data. This means the footage comes out crystal clean, and retains the same high resolution as they are shot in. It also allows zooming in, pans and tilts, post filming. It also allows smart software features such as AI detect alerts and saved logs of people that have passed perimeters to be saved in the NVR’s database.

We don’t assume every customer we install for is a trained security system operator, so we also take it as our responsibility to configure the software for our clients, so your commercial CCTV system is ready to operate on day 1.

Walkthrough and Handover

We provide training, onboarding and handover materials, so that you or relevant individuals in the organisation are able to manage the CCTV system. We go over how to set up and modify perimeters, check into real time alerts, look through recorded footage, and even talk to potential intruders for those installing systems with two-way audio.

Maintenance Servicing (Regularly Scheduled)

Regular servicing is recommended at least once a year to keep everything secure, compliant, and in order.

In areas that are high risk or for outdoor installations, this may need to become as frequent as once per quarter.

For priority access and comprehensive support, Brillare Electrical also provides premium CCTV care plans. Enquire with our team to find out more.

Compliance, Documentation & Reporting

Commercial CCTV installations in WA come with legal obligations. Depending on your business type, getting this wrong can mean fines, licence issues, or voided insurance claims. We make sure none of that is a concern.

Our installations are carried out in accordance with AS 4806 — the Australian standard for electronic video monitoring — and we ensure your system meets all relevant state and federal requirements from day one.

What’s included with every installation:

  • Systems configuration report: a full record of your setup, camera positions, and network configuration
  • Compliance certification and sign-off: documentation confirming your installation meets current legislative requirements
  • Complete paper trail: everything in writing, ready to present to insurers, licensing bodies, or regulators if you ever need it

For businesses with ongoing compliance obligations, we can also assist with regular compliance audits to ensure your system stays current as standards and regulations evolve.

When Brillare installs your commercial CCTV, you’re not just getting cameras on a wall. You’re getting a fully documented, regulation-compliant system with a licensed team that stands behind it.
